Dane Givner
HARVEST PREP, BOYS BASKETBALL
Givner,
a 6-foot junior guard, turned in his two best games of the season in
helping Harvest Prep capture a Division IV regional championship. On
March 13, Givner scored a career-high 19 points and had six rebounds
in a 58-51 victory over defending state champion South Webster. Ten
of his points came in the third quarter during the Warriors’
decisive 22-11 run. On March 16, Givner scored 18 points on 8-of-17
shooting from the field as Harvest Prep edged Latham Western 76-74
for the regional title.
Ashar Harris
AFRICENTRIC, GIRLS BASKETBALL
Harris, a 5-10 sophomore center, was a force
underneath the basket as the Nubians captured the Division IV state
championship. In a 42-39 victory over Ottoville in a semifinal, she
totaled 12 points on 5-of-9 shooting from the field with seven
rebounds. Harris scored 11 points on 5-of-6 shooting and had seven
rebounds in a 44-27 victory over New Knoxville in the championship
game. Three of her baskets came in the third quarter when
Africentric built its lead. Givner

Ohio National Financial Services during an Agonis Club luncheon at
noon April 27at the Confluence Restaurant, 675 W. Spring St. |
